The wise Hugh Grant once said “Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends...."
I have been a little bummed this week and I've been throwing myself the tiniest of pitty parties (ok, I've been a gigantic baby). I can't remember the last time I have gone this long without any exercise and it looks like I have at least another week or so of hibernation. I originally welcomed the rest and chance to get caught up on work - 12 days of crutches later, I am starting to get a little restless/grouchy and mostly mad at myself for being careless with my scooter (also realizing I'm going to have a heck-of-a scar for a little while hasn't helped anything).
A couple things that have cheered me up however: watching Love Actually on repeat (always a mood booster - although Jonny is about to toss the TV out the window), and spending time at Union Station in Denver, seeing all of the happy things going on around me. Recently, Union Station was revamped and has created this amazing venue for people to congregate... restaurants, bars, a hotel, and some sweet little boutiques. It has been such a welcomed and necessary addition to our city.
It feels like fall is slowly making its arrival around here and sweaters like this one are perfect for cozy fall days and airplane rides. I always get chilly on the plane and love layering up in comfy cardigans (otherwise I end purchasing $45 fleece blankets at the airport that are never to be used again... oops!). And I just love any and all WildFox tees (worn here as well) and this one is just perfect for travel days.
Hope your first few days of fall have been cozy and lovely. Where are your favorite places to spend time in your city?
