Summer is ending, and mostly white dresses with happy flamingos will soon be a thing of the past, but we are headed to Bermuda next week and I have a serious case of Flamingo Fever. I think it is a real thing - I do! I was doing a little online shopping last week and the only things I wanted had to have the pink bird on them. Tropical print? No. Bright colors? No. Flamingos anyplace, anywhere? Gimmeeeee!!!
This dress will be perfect for our trip to Bermuda, but temperatures have been quite hot in Denver and I couldn't wait to wear it, so pulled it out for my Nana's birthday dinner last weekend. I got compliments on it from other restaurant goers, and several stopped to ask where they could get one too! Full disclosure this dress came with sleeves. However, I purchased it from a new website Choies which has dresses with awesome designs at a great price point, but the sleeves felt like they were made for a small doll. Anyway, the dress fit perfectly everywhere else so I decided to make a quick trip to my favorite tailor (if you are a in Denver I go to Dari - he and his team are the best!!) they removed the sleeves and had it back to me in a couple hours and I love it just as much! From this experience I would suggest sizing up. I am typically a standard 2 or S, but will likely order mediums from this site from now on.
My exact print is sold out, but interestingly enough... Choies decided to make two similar sleeveless styles (go figure?) here ($43.99) and here ($44.99) - both adorable! Check out the rest of my look and some of my other flamingo favs below!
Thanks again to Brandon Hill for these pics! I had the best time shooting around my neighborhood with this awesome photographer, a recent transplant from Austin. Check out some of Brandon's other work here
