Hi Guys!
This past weekend I felt productive with a capital P! I think the best part about it, it was unplanned productivityness (not a word, I know). I like when I surprise myself like that. I had planned to have a pretty lazy Sunday, maybe some yoga then we would meet up with friends to watch the game. For some reason I woke up and wanted to redecorate, then reorganize the house for our new fun finds and then made huge batch of chicken noodle soup for a few brand new mommies in my life. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday and an even better way to start my Monday.
Although I got a lot done, Jonny was a little disappointed that I wasn't fully engaged in the Broncos game. I love 'em, I support 'em, but as much as I try, I just can't focus on guys tackling each other for four hours. I think a lot of girls feel this way - a few of my friends in particular. Early in the season, my friend, Monica, mentioned to me that there are not enough cute clothing options for girls for sporting events. She was headed to a baseball game out of town so I sent her a few things that I found and reminded her that you don't have to stick with jerseys, jeans, and t-shirts to look like a fan!
I love this ruana I picked up while in Charlottesville last month - UVA's colors are the same as the Broncos, so I snagged a few things for both Jonny and myself. FYI (via Wikipedia) - A ruana is a poncho-style outer garment typical of the Andes region of Venezuela and Colombia, particularly in the Boyacรก department and Antioquia - the word itself means "land of blankets". In case you have trivia night tonight or a vocabulary test, I just wanted you to be prepared ;). For simplicity sake we are going to refer to it as a wrap cape ;).
I understand that not everyone is a Broncos fan so I have paired some of my favorite color combos below (that I know happen to also coordinate with a few other NFL teams). I love this monogram necklace from Moon and Lola as an every day piece that goes with anything or also a great gift for the holidays. And this cape is a stunner - perfectly cozy and classy at the same time. I also love adding a sleek belt like this Tory Burch Logo Belt to break up a monochromatic look, it looks instantly put together.
Each of these items, although adorable for a sporting event, would also double as great gifts! Can't believe the holidays are right around the corner.... heard my first Christmas song on the radio yesterday "Deck the halls... fa la la la lalalalalalalalaaaaaa!" (you are now going to be singing it the rest of the day too!).
Hope it's a great one!
