Gift Guide - Every Day Favorites!

Raindrops on roses... and whiskers on kittens... bright copper kettle and warm woolen mittens!  Ok - I wont sing anymore, but that is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time!  In case you are still looking for some last minute gift ideas I will still have a few more gift guides for you the next couple of days! Today's gift guide is a list of tried and true things that I have, love and use on the reg!

I wear my glossy red Hunters everywhere (I wore here and here) and they have been such a fun addition to my winter boots,  even in the 12 inches of snow we just got in Denver!  I know us gals (sometimes) think about fashion over functionality, but these have tons of traction so are actually great in the snow - and perfect warm with a thick sock like these cute and cozy ones ($16.50 / 40% off with code BRNICK).   

Until this year, I never imagined myself getting use out of my white jeans much after summer.  I have gotten more wear out of these jeans (I wore here) this fall and winter, more than any other pair in my closet.  And love this personalized wrap ($48) that is very similar to this one here. 

I recently wore this coat - $139 + 20% off and free shipping with code dontmelt - (for our Christmas pictures here!) and have been wearing it non stop since! It so warm and cozy, yet has a tailored fit and not overly bulky which sometimes happens with warm winter coats.

Makeup is such a great stocking stuffer!  I have had a few emails about my favorite makeup essentials.  These are them! I love mascara... I could happily leave the house without most makeup, but just feel naked without mascara.  I love the Extreme Party mascara  - it can be layered on without clumping and still makes lashes look thick and long.  I have been loading on this Extra Lip tint - it is the perfect mix of a chapstick and lipstick.... so perfect for moisturizing and adding a little color.

Happy Monday Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to this short week, and a fun filled Thanksgiving with your loved ones in just a few short days.  

As most of you know, I am a Colorado girl... through and through, but sometimes I think my style spirit animal is a little more like a southern girl from the deep south (ya know, somewhere where "ya'll is used on the reg) trapped in a Colorado girl's body.

I loved visiting Charlottesville, VA because every store we went in to had that sweet, southern, preppy style I love!!  My favorite being Southern Proper - sadly we do not have one here in CO, but of course all of their fun items can be found online!

• I love both Jonny's Varisty Vest and my All Prep Vest they are so easy to throw on quickly for chilly morning walks with Mr. Brown.  Also, we both love cozy vests to take to the mountains - they are perfect for the drive up or warming up in the lodge for an apre' ski session after a long day on the hill (bonus - my All Prep Vest is reversible... warm and fleece on the side shown and waterproof and quilted on the other)!

• Each year, since we were little, my sisters and I would open our gifts Christmas morning and then go to our rooms to try our new things on.  We chose our new favorite dress to go to our best friends', the Grizwolds annual Christmas party (yes, the Grizwolds).  I can imagine this Henderson Dress would be my favorite dress under the tree this year!  This dress is perfect for a low key holiday party as well as a casual day at work.

• This Navy Popover is such a great staple for any wardrobe.  I love the detailing - the scalloped collar and little doggy signature are sweet details that make for such a thoughtful gift (also love the crisp white and Ansley plaid)!  All of their hats make adorable stocking stuffers - I have been wearing mine (similar print here) non stop since I picked it up (from the men's store) last month in Charlottesville (they are unisex).

• I originally popped in to Southern Proper to get Jonny a birthday present and fell in love with their whole store.  I knew Jonny would get a lot of wear out of this Navy & Orange Goal Line Shirt because of his love for the Broncos - I was right! He loves the slim fit of the shirt (and of course the pattern!) he also likes this one.  His Nick needle point belt would be another great stocking stuffer!

For women's sizing: I am typically a small and sometimes and xs - my items ran a little big so I would suggest sizing down in Southern Proper.  For Men's sizing: It seems mens sizing runs true to size in shirts and a little big in outerwear.

Wish List Wednesday - Holiday Dresses

Hi Friends!

I have been looking forward to these wish lists every week because it is so fun sharing all of the things that I am eyeing with you and it means it is inching towards the weekend (yipee!).  This week I have been on the hunt for the perfect holiday outfit for our upcoming Friendsgiving - which kicks off our holiday party season.  I love any occasion to get dressed up so holiday parties are the perfect excuse to wear something extra special and sparkly.  

I am planning to wear this Vince Camuto skirt for our Friendsgiving this weekend.  I think the deep plums and oranges are perfect for the season (not to mention my best friend, Emi is wearing this one and we have loved wearing matching clothes since 1st grade... #notashamed).  I really love this dress for the holidays - the big bow on the back is so sweet and feminine - and the price is really affordable ($58) (also love this almost identical Kate Spade dress, but a little pricier :) ).  I snapped this one up late last night because I know they are going to sell out quickly!

Wish List Wednesday - Winter Coats

Dear Santa,

After staring for hours at last week's wish list I may or may not have eliminated two things from my wish list already - I simply needed this cape and these red Hunters for the Holiday season (both are selling out like hot cakes!).  (Do people still say that?).  I realize that this is not how a wish list is supposed to work.  A wish list is a list of things that I WISH I had and hopefully SANTA (ahem) might bring.... will be doing my best exercise my self control over the next month an a half.

I have rounded up my favorite coats this winter above.  There are also some amazing Veterans Day sales going on today on some real gems... so a perfect time to score the perfect coat for yourself or as a gift!  I have been lusting over this J.Crew Chateau Parka ($365) since last year and love all of the colors it comes in - especially the red, blush pink, grey, and camel.  I just saw that J.Crew Factory has created a similar version at almost half the price (not as many color options - but no biggie)... I love shopping there when I can!  I also love this merlot, skirted, Steve Madden coat (on sale $119) it is so feminine and would be adorable with jeans or a dress.  And this Penfield down jacket ($235) is perfect for casual days after skiing in the mountains or running errands this winter.

Dear Santa,

I have been a mostly good girl this year.  I only crashed my scooter twice, and went over on our family data plan every other month 😳, but just in case you are still listening - these are few things I am loving!! 🎅

I love the idea of wearing blue suede shoes, they are classy and fun rolled into one.  These gorgeous flats are also a steal ($58) and can be worn with a pair of fun tights or jeans!  I am definitely hoping for this shirt.  I have a similar, summer version (seen here) and it is one of my very favorite shirts!  I never knew I was going to be such a big fan of capes... I posted one just yesterday (here) and love that this plaid one ($48) is similar and is also reversible which makes it versatile and easy to wear multiple ways.  I also love that they add character and a pop of color to a simple outfit.
