Happy Friday Friends!
Crazy how fast time flies, right? Two years ago in August, Jonny and I got engaged in Italy (sigh) then flew to Paris to meet up with one of my best friends and her husband who were living in London at the time. We were practically floating. Oh gosh, now I’m daydreaming…. Take me back!!
It was my first time to Paris and it was absolutely everything I could have imagined (queue the chirping birds, café music, and French accents). We were only there a short time and Jonny had a pretty set schedule. He is a serious history buff so obviously had a looooong list of museums and sights he wanted to see, which means we also had to listen to the complete audio guide for the Louvre and each museum we went to leaving little shopping time for me. We did manage to squeeze in a lovely afternoon of shopping on our last day.
For reasons I will never be able to explain, I started my shopping journey in this Abercrombie and Fitch palace (really a palace) and (luckily) quickly found my way to Zara. We don’t have Zara in Colorado so I always try and stock up whenever I find one. I grabbed quite a few things, but these ripped jeans stood out to me (old - similar and on sale here and here). I kept telling myself that they looked like the A&F/Hollister jeans we wore in high school, but since I was in the Zara in Paris they must know something I didn’t. Obviously, this was true. I have gotten so much wear out of these and have been wearing mostly distressed styles recently - I like how they roughen up an otherwise soft look..
My blouse is such a sweet summer piece. So light and flowy and I love when a plain top has a surprising detail like the back on this one (on sale $55). I feel like a lot of the trends this season are really speaking my language. I have always been drawn to very girly things, but they have not always been considered “in style” lucky for me florals are huge this season and I hope they never ever leave. My floral pumps (sold out this am - I also love these on sale $77.96) perfectly fluff up an otherwise plain look. I like how they give the masculine, distressed, jeans a feminine touch.
