About this time last year, I was in full on panic mode in preparation for our fall wedding. Like most brides, I had about 97 million questions, and it felt like just as many decisions to make: Where should I look for a wedding dress for starters? Who is the best wedding planner? Where do I even start to look for 200 pairs of custom sunglasses? HOLY CRAP!!! I was a tad overwhelmed to say the least. Jonny and I started Wedding Wednesdays to try and keep our wedding talk to one day a week (I know, I said try!), and we would try and do all of our wedding related tasks together that day. The other days in the week I bothered my mom, and sisters (muhahaha).
For my first Wedding Wednesday post, it is only fitting that I highlight Miss Nerida Mason. Nerida is a fantastic bridal accessories designer and customizes each piece that she creates - which is how we first met. She created a beautiful bridal sash for me that I was told you could see sparkle from the back row of our ceremony. I was impressed to learn that she came up with the concepts and designs of each piece, but became her biggest fan when I learned she hand stitched everyone of the little crystals on my sash – crazy talk, I know!!! This darling Aussie has grown to be a good friend of mine although we just met this time last year - we instantly bonded over our love of lace, sparkly things and Prosecco.
My little sister and I are absolutely convinced she is an undercover princess – she's that adorable...
For the month of June, Nerida is offering Denver Darling readers 30% off when you mention Darling at the time of your order.
Oh sure, since you asked.... here are a couple shots of my sash too ;)
A big reason I started Denver Darling was to offer a resource for girls (and guys!) to look to for great local contacts – shops, boutiques, restaurants, wedding vendors, etc. As a lifetime Coloradan – I have had the chance to meet some pretty sweet people and equally amazing companies, and I want new and native Denverites alike to be able to find these awesome people too. I interviewed countless wedding vendors during our planning process and obviously loved all of the people that were a part of our big day. After our wedding, our newly engaged friends were in the same boat as we were when we started planning. Being newly wed, friends started asking for our recommendations for their weddings. I started sending lists with all of our favorite vendors that we used and even some we didn’t, but loved anyway! While I’ve continued to get wedding related questions, I have decided to share the answers right here to hopefully be a guide for all of you too!
