I have just returned from a long, fun-filled, beachy weekend with some awesome girls, celebrating my wonderful friend, Emily, and suddenly its Monday and it is August already - seriously?!! This year is flying by. Jonny and my 1st year anniversary is approaching next month and Emily and Tom's Bermuda wedding is just a month away. I can't believe it! I feel like I just started to really get in my summer outfit groove and then all of a sudden, its time to move on to the next season. Luckily, I have started investing in more transitional pieces like this red romper ($56). The open back, flowy material and fun pattern (which remind me of little popsicles), make it perfect for hot temps now, but the long sleeves make it great for transitioning into early fall. The Patterns and Pops girls recommended pairing my romper with tights for cooler nights. I have yet to try this so will test it out and let you know what I think once the seasons change, but just some ideas to get you thinkin! This romper goes on sale later this week, but if you are interested in ordering early feel free to email patternsandpops@gmail.com to preorder :).
Last week I hosted a Sip and Shop party for Patterns & Pops. My adorable sister in law, Erin, hosted with me and we invited all of our girlfriends to come and shop their sassy new truck (lovingly named Patsy). We were chatting most of the evening so we didn't shop until the end and I saw this romper leave with several girls, I got a little worried there wouldn't be one left for me.... alas one left in my size!!!
This is more than your average romper. First, as I am sure you've noticed, I am a dress girl. All day, all night... to work, play, its dresses for me. But this romper stole my heart. It has a little fit, a little flare, some dainty details, a pretty open back and tie closures, and you feel like you can rule the world.... bahahaha. Orrrrrr maybe not :/ - but you do have a little more freedom while maintaining the girly feeling of a dress. Also, a friend who purchased this exact romper is 5 '11, so I am convinced this is a "Sisterhood of the traveling romper" - it pretty much fits all shapes and sizes.
I have been posting quite a bit about the sweet girls at Patterns & Pops, but I just love their fun stuff and I love supporting small, local businesses - especially owned by two awesome girls with great taste!
Shop my exact look at Patterns & Pops and order this exact romper before it goes on sale by emailing patternsandpops@gmail.com and shop some of my other favorite transitional rompers below. Have a wonderful week!!
Special thanks again to Andrea Flanagan for snapping these pics!
