Instructions:

preheat oven to 425°

roll out dough

cut circles using 4' buscuit cutter

in mini muffin tin, scoop about 3 cherries in each cup

sprinkle sugar in each cup to sweeten :)

using small cookie or pie crust cutter cut star (or shape) in remaining dough

make egg wash mixing egg with 1 tblsp. of water

brush each star with egg wash and place on top

bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown

cool

I also added frosting and blueberries on each one, which taste delicious, but don't look quite as pretty :)

When I was younger, I enjoyed the Fourth of July. I loved the festivities, spending the ENTIRE day at the pool, and our annual neighborhood BBQ where we would see all of our old friends and watch the fireworks. However, I was always a little sad when the day would roll around, because it meant that summer was halfway over and it was time to start thinking about getting ready for school again. Now, as an adult, I look forward to the Fourth of July for months! I feel like the Fourth is just the beginning of my summer and is the perfect opportunity for me to wear some of my favorite preppy things, decorate in a fun theme (without Jonny giving me a hard time), and get a lot of sun over the long weekend (loving racer back bikinis!).

This year, Jonny and I are planning on staying close to home. With our busy summer schedule we are excited to spend some time at our family's cabin, just relaxing, hiking with Mr. Brown and getting some good Mile High sunshine. I plan on wearing this casual nautical number ($99) all weekend, and am very excited that I just stumbled upon this this skirt ($138) and this romper ($158) - and am trying to decide which to wear for the evening festivities... in love with both so I'm having a hard time (the skirt is what my themed party dreams are made of so leaning that direction 60% - 40%). What do you think?
