H&M Fall Favorites

Happy Wednesday and Happy, Happy Birthday To my sweet Husband!

Today is Jonny's birthday, and I am like a child when it comes to birthdays and holidays. So...I am pretty much a kid on Christmas Eve getting ready for his party tonight and hoping he gets home soon so he can open his presents!  I am also a terrible secret keeper, so the sooner the better 🙊.

I first discovered H&M when I was interning in Washington, D.C.  It was the perfect place for me to go to find affordable, work appropriate, yet stylish clothing. As a 19 year old, working on an interns salary…which was $0 an hour btw...finding a place that could help me dress to impress, yet not break the bank was so important.  I was a little frustrated when I returned home to Denver after that summer and there was nowhere like H&M for me to shop. However, a few years later one popped up right near me and just in time for graduation and interviews.... perfect!!

Now that I am not interning or interviewing anymore, I am still in need of a place I can count on with affordable, stylish clothes for everyday casual wear, meetings, and events.  Also, its crazy to think we are getting ready for the holidays already, and there are always so many gatherings this time of year - its nice to have a place you can depend on that you know will always be classy and elegant!  I have rounded up my favorite looks above that are perfect for now through the holiday season (everything is between $13 - $130!). P.S. I want fur on ev-er-y-thang!

For Northern, CO peeps, there is a brand new, beautiful store popping up at the Foothills Mall! Grand opening is tomorrow at 12:00pm.  H&M will be distributing Fashion Passes $20-$200 to the first 200 guests in line.  They are also looking for new employees here.

Thanks to H&M for sponsoring this post <3

Things that are red...

Hi Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine went a little differently than planned.  I had planned to have this post up on Saturday morning, so apologies for that! Friday night I got in a bit of a scooter accident while trying to Jason Bourne my scooter onto the sidewalk (bad, bad idea) and ended up in the ER which changed all of our plans for the weekend.  I know I have said it 10,000 times, but it was our anniversary this past weekend, so we had big plans to head to Vail and check out the leaves and relax at the hotel where we had our wedding reception.  Well, 12 stitches later we spent the weekend eating sushi on our couch, exchanging gifts, and playing cards in the park.  It ended up being perfect.  Sometimes life throws you some lovely little curve-balls, but times like these make me even more thankful for my health, my amazing husband and wonderful family (and Mr. Brown) who constantly love and support me.

The day I shot this look we were leaving for Bermuda, and I was running around like a crazy person trying to get all of my last minute errands done.  I felt awful, and super guilty leaving my Mr. Brown for almost a week, especially since he knows exactly what it means when Jonny and I are packing our suitcases.  A few weeks prior - we were packing up (and taking him with us) and he refused to leave the car fearing we were going to leave him.  He seriously melts my heart.  Anyway, to give him a little extra attention, I decided to bring him with me to this shoot and luckily Mr. Brown was the best accessory to this outfit... the perfect pop of red!  Some days I regret not naming him Clifford (the big red dog!), but Charlie Brown suits him pretty well, don't you think?

I love black, white, and red together.  It is such a classic look, forever chic, and always makes a statement.  I was drawn to this dress because of the little lace detailing.  The dress is adorable without it, but the added touch of the peekaboo lace gives it something special!  Not to mention, it has pockets and is $78 (love when I find an expensive looking dress under $100)!  I am in love with this color combo right now, and wore this dress to the Cusp Fashion Chat over the weekend (crutches prevented me from wearing my red heels, but these flats were just what the doctor ordered ;)).

Hope you have a great and injury free week!
